Victim Advocate

Job Description
Type of Job: 
Full-Time
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Victim advocates are professionals trained to support survivors of sexual violence. Advocates offer information, emotional support, and help finding resources. Advocates are responsible for providing crisis intervention on the hotline and in-person. Other duties include maintaining accurate files, data entry, data collection and records of each service provided in accordance with agency standards.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Successful applicants must complete the RCCCNM 40-hour Advocate Training.

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Bachelor degree (Social Sciences or related field)
• A minimum of one year direct service experience
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Must be willing to work with other agencies and participate in outreach activities
• Ability to adhere to strict standards of confidentiality
• Must obtain Criminal Records Background clearance
• Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
