Victim Advocate

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Victim Advocate is responsible for providing crisis intervention on crisis hotline and in-person advocacy to survivors of sexual assault and their loved ones.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Other duties include maintaining accurate files and records of each service provided in accordance with agency standards. The Victim Advocate will also provide legal advocacy as needed. Additionally, may be asked to be back-up and on-call during night and weekend hours outside of their shift.

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Bachelor degree (Social Sciences or related field)
• Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) preferred
• A minimum of one year experience in social service field
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Must be willing to work with other agencies and participate in outreach activities
• Ability to adhere to strict standards of confidentiality
• Must obtain Criminal Records Background clearance
