Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Victim Advocate provides advocate services to victims of domestic violence including acute crisis intervention, education, safety planning, legal advocacy and service referrals.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Provides crisis intervention domestic violence education and safety planning.
• Provides legal advocacy of education and assistance regarding victim’s rights in legal options.
• Provides information and referral on available services for issues of domestic violence.
• On-call support to provide advocacy to victims during a law enforcement domestic violence call.
• Provide followup care with clients via phone calls.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Associate degree in a Behavioral Science (Social Work, Human Services, Family studies, etc.). Experience may substitute for a degree at a 1:1 ratio assuming an Associate’s Degree is a 2-year degree. Strong skills and/or knowledge of victim advocacy and crisis intervention. Word processing, spreadsheet and data management skills required.
