Victim Advocate

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Under the supervision of the Director of Crisis Services, the Victim Advocate is responsible for providing crisis intervention and advocacy to survivors of sexual assault and their loved ones during the overnight shift 12am-8am. The Victim Advocate responds to calls on the hotline and provides advocacy for survivors who present at the SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners Unit).

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Other duties include maintaining accurate files and records of each service provided in accordance with agency standards. The Victim Advocate may be asked to be back-up and on call during night and weekend hours outside of their shift.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Requirements:
• A minimum of one year direct service experience
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to adhere to strict standards of confidentiality
• Must obtain Criminal Records Background clearance
• Access to own vehicle and telephone
• Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
