Tax Help New Mexico Site Coordinator

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Supervise volunteers overseeing the site operations during the filing season. Work in partnership with Tax Help NM Program Manager, IRS SPEC agent and CNM and UWCNM staff and volunteers. Scheduling. Ensure no compensation of any kind is accepted for volunteer services provided. Collect and submit statistical reports in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure all volunteers adhere to the Volunteer Standards of Conduct and Quality Site Requirements.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Complete reports and submit on a monthly basis. Monitor site intake process and ensure all volunteers use the Intake/Interview & Quality Review Sheet and that all returns are reviewed and submitted to the IRS. Share and discuss VTA and QSRA with all volunteers. Ensure on-site quality review is performed on each completed return prior to being returned to taxpayer. Follow up on all rejected returns. Commit to managing the site from mid-January through April 15th.

Other Information/Requirements: 

2 yr degree or higher preferred or equivalent combination of education & experience. Complete Site Coordinator Training & IRS Basic, Intermediate & Advanced volunteer tax preparer certification , Ethics certification. Basic understanding of tax law & tax preparation required. Effective communication skills; volunteer management experience. Ability to prioritize, perform under stressful conditions. Bilingual preferred, not required. Driver’s license/ insurance/use of vehicle/background check.
