Support Victim Advocate

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The support victim advocate will work with our clients (those dealing in the aftermath of violent death, attempted homicide, etc.) by proving support and information, referrals, and advocacy in the areas of grief, the criminal justice process, victim rights, and victim reparations. The support victim advocate will complement the services provided by the Certified Victim Advocate (CVA) and the Intake Coordinator.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

This is an interesting and flexible position, with areas for growth and development.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Status:
• Part-time Contract employee.
• Expenses reimbursed.
• $12.00 per hr. for a maximum of 40 hrs per month.
• No employee benefits are offered.

Part Time Support Advocate applicant should possess the following minimum requirements:
• Completion of at least two years of secondary schooling (criminal justice, social work or victimology helpful) or a comparable work history.
• Personal transportation and cell phone required (reimbursement for costs).
