Summer Instructor

Part-Time
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Creates, implements, and delivers educational programs for high school students in Upward Bound Math and Science’s summer academic program. Under general supervision, develops curricula and provides hands-on, problem-based, and instructional learning for classes of 10-15 high school students. This position works up to 4 hours/day. There are 18 instruction days during the summer program. Instruction will take place during the weekdays between May 31-June 3 and between June 14- July 1.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

We are seeking instructors for the following subject areas
• English
• Mathematics (including Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus)
• Physics
• Foreign Language (Spanish and French desired)
• Computer Science
• Agricultural/Farm Science
• Nutrition

Other Information/Requirements: 

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in education (or field related to subject area) from an accredited four year academic institution with 1 to 3 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Preferred Qualifications:
• A valid NM State Teaching license
• Prior work experience with adolescents in a summer program
• Experience instructing non-traditional classrooms or condensed courses
