Main Areas of Responsibility: 

New Mexico Legal Aid is seeking a dynamic and creative leader to serve as Statewide Pro Bono Coordinator for NMLA’s Volunteer Attorney Program.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

This position plays a key role in leading efforts to:
a. Expand the number of pro-bono attorneys willing to provide a full range of services, including direct services to low-income clients
b. Organize and recruit volunteer attorneys for quarterly “Law-la-palooza” legal clinic events
c. Lead statewide efforts to increase placement of pro bono cases

Other Information/Requirements: 

Three or more years’ experience as a practicing attorney. Prior experience working with pro bono programs or handling pro bono cases is a plus. Candidates must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and enthusiasm for building collaborative relationships within the State Bar and the statewide pro bono community. Must be willing to travel. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
