Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Our programs help people with IDD form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy and communication skills, and feel valued by society.
Founded in 1989 by Anthony K. Shriver, Best Buddies is a vibrant, international organization that has grown from one original chapter to almost 2,300 middle school, high school, and college chapters worldwide.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Develop & implement annual state plan & oversee day-to-day operations in offices statewide.
• Secure funding for programs and special projects, overseeing programs to ensure consistency and success, managing local Advisory Boards and associated committees and supervising a small staff.
• Oversee the success of all programmatic operations statewide by working with local programs staff and HQ Program Team.

Other Information/Requirements: 

BS degree and 5+ yrs exp.in fundraising. Track record of success in expanding a donor base through cultivation and stewardship, grant writing, event planning/implementation, and/or board management.
• Superior persuasive writing and presentation skills with the ability to exert influence, inspire others and articulate the mission, goals, and activities of BB with passion and enthusiasm.
• 3+ years of management/supervisory experience and solid talent-building and team-building skills.
