Main Areas of Responsibility:
This new position will be part of the STAR (Successful Transitions and Adulthood Readiness) project for teen youth in foster care in Bernalillo County, New Mexico. Through this project, we will provide advocacy and support services that will prepare teen youth in foster care for their transition out of foster care and into successful adulthood and independent living. Former foster youth are encouraged to apply.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
Develop life skills education curriculum and deliver workshops and training sessions for foster youth.
Topics may include, but are not limited to, self-care, safety/self-defense classes, sexual health, sex
trafficking/human trafficking, cyber safety, financial capabilities and money management, housing
information and resources, independent living skills (shopping, cooking, transportation, etc.), availability of
community services, work and study skills, and job readiness and interviewing skills.
