Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

We are looking for a dynamic and creative staff attorney who would be assigned to our Public Benefits Team to provide legal representation, policy advocacy, and community education to address hunger and secure fundamental fairness in the administration of the public safety net for low-income New Mexicans.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Required: Law degree & license; minimum 2 years as an attorney; excellent research, writing, & legal advocacy skills; ‘no-stone-unturned’ thoroughness and persistence; leadership; ability to be articulate & forceful in the face of powerful opposition; commitment to economic & racial justice. Preferred: knowledge & experience in advocacy, lobbying, legislative & government administrative processes; experience working with diverse community groups & other allies; familiarity with poverty law; Spanish fluency.
