Main Areas of Responsibility:
SANEs provide timely, nonjudgmental, compassionate care. The SANE exam includes a medical/physical/emotional assessment, prophylaxis for pregnancy and STIs, medical and photographic documentation, forensic collection, referrals for appropriate safety, medical, psychological care, support and participation in legal proceedings. The SANE uses the NM Sexual Assault Evidence Kit for forensic collection within appropriate time frames for adult, adolescent and pediatric patients.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
Minimum requirements: RN license, 2 years nursing experience, live within 1 hour of Farmington, NM and be able to attend mandatory 6-day training, September 14-16, AND September 28-30 in Albuquerque. Additional clinical preceptorship also required. This is a part-time, on-call position. Must be able to commit to a minimum of 72-hours of on-call, including weeknights and weekends.
