Senior Director of Development

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Senior Director of Development will serve as the major fundraiser for the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center and will design, implement, evaluate, and refine aspects of the unit's private-sector fund raising activities with an emphasis on major gifts as defined by UNM Foundation standards. The primary focus of the position is to identify and cultivate prospects and solicit major gifts as defined by UNM Foundation measures.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Collaborates closely with other University Foundation professionals and administrators in support of University-wide development goals. Participates as a member of the senior administrative council for the unit. Participates with UNM Foundation senior leadership and other University administrators in addressing issues of professional practice, policies, and procedures.

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution required; Master’s Degree preferred
• Seven (7) or more years related development experience
• Five (5) or more years’ experience in major gift fundraising
• Five (5) or more years’ experience in management
• Experience in higher education or other non-profit organization
