Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Accion is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team at our Albuquerque, NM headquarters. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing accounting operations across the organization’s five-state region, including grant and contracts compliance and administration, loan servicing, and year-end audit preparation.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

-Performs advanced accounting and related functions in such areas as ledger maintenance and monthly closing, cost and/or financial analysis, fund reconciliation, posting, and loan portfolio control.
-Analyzes complex financial and operating data and prepares reports, financial statements, and projections.
-Ensures all accounting functions and programs are maintained in accordance with GAAP and Governmental Accounting Standards.

-Passion for Accion’s mission and a strong commitment to Accion’s culture of exceptional customer service, excellence and accountability.
-Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business, or finance plus five years’ experience in a non-profit setting; Master’s Degree and/or CPA certificate preferred.
-Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
-Supervisory experience preferred.
-Accounting experience for loan operations preferred.
