Scholar Support Coordinator

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Simon Scholars program is seeking a Scholar Support Coordinator to provide direct services to students participating in the program. The program has 2 Scholar Support Coordinators, one in Santa Fe and one in Albuquerque, to serve the students in each area. They collaborate regularly, since they perform the same functions for their respective students. The program is currently seeking to fill the position in Santa Fe.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Working closely with the Program Director and College Transition Specialist, the Scholar Support Coordinator will
• supervise all tutoring services, including selection of tutors and supervising tutoring sessions
• provide individual support to students
• facilitate workshops on College Guidance
• plan and participate in events, retreats and college visits

Other Information/Requirements: 

Most activities occur evenings and weekends and many require travel and overnight stays.

Ideal candidates will be bilingual, have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, pass a background check and have experience working with high school students, tutoring and workshop facilitation. Candidates should possess a college degree, excellent computer skills and a passion for working with under-served youth.
