Part-Time
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Resident Advocate is responsible to work directly with residents of our homeless female veterans program to develop skills and assets to live independently, gain social skills, and re-integrate into the community after military service.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Implement and supervise effective program of care as devised by the Case Manager. Develop supportive relationship with residents and carryout management responsibilities, including ensuring the goals of the residents are being met. In coordination with Case Manager, recommend approval or denial of visitors and off-site community passes. Maintain accurate records and reports on a daily basis. Maintain frequent and consistent contact with representatives of referring agencies. Ensure house rules are followed.

Other Information/Requirements: 

2-3 years experience working with homeless or behavioral health services. Experience with Veteran population a plus. Ability to intervene during crisis situations. Adequate vision and hearing to be able to supervise clients properly. Ability to work in stressful situations and maintain sense of humor and positive attitude. Commitment to the mission of the YWCA New Mexico.
