Regional Coordinator for Foster Grandparent/Senior Companion Program

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Assure that FGP/SCP programs are in compliance with grants/contracts. and program goals and objectives are met. Recruit, select, orient and place Foster Grandparents and Senior Companions with volunteer stations. Responsible for the timely submission of all program reports to the Regional Director. Develop, review and update Memorandum of Understanding and other documents with volunteer stations as directed by Regional Director. Maintain active involvement with community organizations.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Adhere to approved budgets and submit for approval to the Regional Director, purchase orders and vouchers for reimbursement submitted by FGP/SCP volunteers, or staff. In conjunction with Regional Director and Advisory Council, prepare proposals to potential funding sources to secure continued funding. Attend conferences, meetings and training programs related to the position, including those sponsored by the Corporation for National and Community Service and the Aging and Long Term Care Department.

Other Information/Requirements: 

B.A. or B.S. in Education, Social Work Administration or related field; or 1½ years of related work experience for every year of college education. Should have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience working with Foster Grandparent/Senior Companion Programs or similar programs and at least two (2) years of supervisory skills.
