Public Relations/Media Relations Specialist

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The American Society of Radiologic Technologists is the premier membership association for medical imaging and radiation therapy individuals.

We are seeking a public relations/media relations specialist position who will develop and manage public relations/communication campaigns, build positive relationships with media contacts, serve as a primary contact for media members, act as a spokesperson when necessary and serve on the organization’s social media team.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Additional duties include writing and editing articles for the organization’s publications and website, and providing editorial and PR support for ASRT departments.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Minimum:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 3-5 years’ exp. in media, community relations and legislative outreach programs
• Intermediate MS Office skills
• Advanced social media skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Able to articulate well orally and in writing
• Able to work within deadlines
• Builds strategic alliances and a network of media contacts
• Attention to detail
• Exp. in a nonprofit or membership organization a plus
