Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Teaching high school equivalency classes to adult returning citizens (justice-involved individuals), which includes curriculum development, lesson planning, and evaluation of student outcomes. Assist the Director in coordinating this pilot program called the Reentry Empowerment Project.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Maintaining accurate records on all students, building community partnerships and communicating with partner agencies, and overseeing all grant requirements. Bachelor’s degree required; NM Teaching Licensure and certification in TESOL.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Bilingual education for ESL preferred; bilingual English/Spanish preferred; 1 year of teaching experience required; 5 years’ experience teaching adults preferred and 3 years’ minimum of coordinating or supervisory experience required; intermediate computer competency in MS Office and Windows required; and a valid NM driver’s license is required. Must have the ability to work in a respectful manner with individuals involved or formerly involved with the criminal justice system.
