Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Program Coordinator ensures successful implementation of Golden Apple Foundation of New Mexico’s (GAFNM’s) programs and provides assistance with implementation of other GAFNM projects as needed. GAFNM Programs currently include the Golden Apple Excellence in Teaching Award (nomination, selection and recognition), Golden Apple Scholars, the Golden Apple Web-Based Community for Teachers, and Golden Apple Professional Development. The Program Coordinator reports to the Executive Director.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The Program Coordinator is instrumental in the planning, preparation for and execution of the Tribute to Teacher Excellence luncheon, Scholars Program Summer Institutes, and the Wells Fargo/Golden Apple Teacher Partner Grant program.

Bachelor's degree required.

Other Information/Requirements: 

A successful candidate will be able to work creatively with little direction; have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; communicate well among a wide range of constituencies; be eager to adapt quickly and navigate changes in strategy; be fluent in MS Office programs; communicate GAFNM’s successes and innovations using web-based and social media technology; appreciate the teaching profession and be excited to recognize and promote excellence in teaching. Some in-state travel is required.
