Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Responsible for assisting the Center Director in establishing and implementing a pilot program called Reentry Empowerment Project as well as to teach classes to adults. This includes curriculum development, lesson planning, and evaluation of student outcomes. Maintains accurate records on all students.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Provides oversight and coordination of GED and ESL teachers and program issues as well as recruiting and matching volunteer tutors with students; coordinates substitute teacher coverage for all instructors; communicates with partner agencies. Bachelor’s degree preferred; NM Teaching Licensure and certification in TESOL or bilingual education for ESL preferred.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; five years’ experience teaching adults preferred and three years’ minimum of coordinating or supervisory experience required; intermediate computer competency in MS Office and Windows required; and a valid NM driver’s license is required. Must have the ability to work in a respectful manner with individuals involved or formerly involved with the criminal justice system. This job location may vary.
