Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Do you have a passion for horticulture, gardening, and community? Join the Railyard Stewards - the conservancy organization caring for the Santa Fe’s largest cultivated park – the 13-acre Railyard Park. The Program Coordinator leads the hands-on, horticultural care of the landscapes/gardens in the Park with adult and youth volunteers; presents educational/outreach programming for our Outdoor Science Classroom and Community Workshop Series; and works with our network of partner organizations.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

•Lead youth in-service work crews & Yardmaster adult volunteers in Park maintenance & conservation projects
•Manage Outreach Program & recruit new volunteer groups
•Develop curricula and lead Outdoor Science Classroom school groups; coordinate Park visits/tours
•Manage the Community Workshop Series; build network of partner organizations with affiliated nonprofits, schools, community groups, businesses
•Produce monthly newsletter, social media posts, update website
•Manage Community Room rentals

Other Information/Requirements: 

•BA/BS degree; 3+ yrs. related work experience
•General knowledge of horticulture, xeric gardening, landscaping practices
•Solid leadership skills - experience managing groups of adult/youth volunteers
•Experience leading, developing science and ecology workshops
•Knowledge of southwest ecology
•Demonstrated problem-solving & good interpersonal skills; strong customer service orientation
• Solid written and computer communication skills.
• Reliable; able to work independently and part of a team.
