Albuquerque SANE seeks PRN Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners to support our vital mission! A Forensic Nurse is a Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Nurse who has advanced education and training in the specialized care of patients who are experiencing violence.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

We ask our nurses to work a minimum of four 12-hour on-call shifts per month, one of which must be night shift, and at least one holiday per calendar year. The initial training and precept process (equipment competency, speculum skills, shadowing and being shadowed) can take 3 to 5 months before a new nurse can practice independently and receive pay.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Individuals interested in working for Albuquerque SANE need to meet minimum qualifications:
- A current RN licensure to practice in New Mexico
- BLS certification
- At least 2 years nursing experience
- You are required to have individual malpractice insurance (1,000,000/3,000,000)
- Be able to pass a criminal background check
