Prevention Education Coordinator

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Prevention Education Coordinator plans, implements and evaluates sexual violence prevention projects, including delivering short and long-term educational presentations/workshops, develop and implement community organizing initiatives aimed at preventing sexual assault and abuse and conducts outreach to undeserved populations.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Initiate, develop and manage work plans for youth projects
• Build supportive relationships with community, including teachers, parents, service providers, etc.
• Develop and implement targeted outreach to underserved populations
• Develop relevant, culturally competent, bilingual materials
• Maintain accurate statistics and participate in grant reporting, review and evaluation as required
• Participate in regular agency and departmental meetings.
• Other germane duties as assigned.

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree, direct experience or combination
• At least 3 years direct experience working with diverse populations
• Community organizing experience
• Strong commitment to social justice and understanding of dynamics of race, class, gender and sexuality, and of various cultural values
• Ability to work flexible hours
• A car and valid driver’s license
• Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English)
• Strong writing skills
