PREA Victim Advocate

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Understand PREA standards for rape crisis centers and correctional facilities
Collaborate with detention facilities
Develop Sexual Assault Response Teams
Provide sexual assault services to incarcerated victims
Ensure advocacy for victims while incarcerated and on release
Train incarcerated populations, facility staff, RCCCNM Victim Advocates, and other providers
Ensure grant reports are timely and accurate
Communicate with Executive Director, SANE, and detention facilities

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and drive. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk; or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Master’s Degree in Public Health, Social Work, etc; or Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years experience
Two years program management and direct victim services experience
Work with detention facilities and law enforcement
Experience in service provisions for vulnerable populations
Network with service providers
Excellent written and verbal communication
Adhere to strict confidentiality
Criminal Records Background clearance
Complete 40-hour training
Access to own vehicle
Available to work a flexible schedule
