Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Administer the program at the classroom level and supervise assistant teachers. Prepare students to be ready for kindergarten by teaching early learning foundations in basic subjects such as pre-reading readiness and early math. Prepare daily lessons and exercises; follow age-appropriate curriculum guidelines for preschoolers. Help students integrate with one another; identify emotional problems and address them with the child’s parents or guardians during parent-teacher conferences.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Assists the Director and Coordinator in planning and implementing activities designed to promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth of the children. BA degree or be enrolled in courses towards a BA’s degree in early childhood education within 6 months after hire, and must complete at least 6 credits annually; CDA or CDC; bilingual in English/Spanish; 2 years’ experience in working with children in a day care setting; successfully complete Early Pre-K Database training and FOCUS trainings.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Knowledge and experience on the normal range of development of children; demonstrate excellent leadership and organizational skills and the ability to motivate people. A minimum two (2) years’ experience of supervision in an early childhood educational setting preferred. Salary Range: 
$14.98 - $16.18 per hour/$31,158 - $33,654 annually, DOE.
