Outreach Worker

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Provide unique service to Mentally Ill population in Albuquerque. Work closely with COAST and CIT departments of APD in partnership with existing Outreach Worker(s) to provide services & referrals to individuals with severe mental illness. Will provide critical incident support as needed. This is a full time position. Non-traditional hours are required. Approximately Noon to 8pm and some weekends for critical incidents. Schedule will be adjusted to limit to 40 hours/week.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The selected candidate must have significant experience working with the SDMI population and experience in working with criminal justice system with be a plus. Nursing experience also a plus. This position is critical in creating and maintaining positive relationship with justice system and mentally ill clients for non-lethal resolution to critical incidents.

Other Information/Requirements: 

-A minimum BA in Human Service Related or Criminal Justice Field. Masters preferred.
-A minimum of 2 yrs exp with ADULT SMI populations.
-Experience with Criminal Justice System/psychiatric nursing a plus.
-Non Traditional Hours required-Current Valid driver's license, clean driving record that would enable being insured by agency's insurance carrier.
-Bilingual helpful
