Outreach Specialist

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

This position provides culturally sensitive community outreach, organization of community events to families in Santa Fe County. The focus of this outreach and community engagement is to support women in their early pregnancy and prenatal care, as well as connecting families with appropriate resources.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Engage in successful outreach activities to families in neighborhoods
• Provide support, education, referrals and assistance in the home and community settings
• Maintain documentation of activities according to program standards and guidelines
• Demonstrate understanding of different backgrounds, family situations, and values
• Collaborate and coordinate services with other community agencies
• Create and maintain positive relationships with referral sources and community partners

Other Information/Requirements: 

• High school diploma or GED required
• Higher education in Social Work, community organizing or related field preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
• Experience working with infants, postpartum mothers and families, preferred
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to pass a mandatory background clearance from CYFD
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, registration and auto insurance
• Extensive local travel is required, flexible hours.
