Northwest Region Outreach Specialist - Contract Position

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Help build a breastfeeding-friendly New Mexico! As an Outreach Specialist you will help mobilize community support for breastfeeding as the cultural norm. The Northwest Outreach Specialist is responsible for providing support to the local New Mexico Breastfeeding Task Force (NMBTF) chapters in the northwest region.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Continue worksite and business outreach plan, provide technical assistance and support to implement lactation policies to local businesses, support assigned chapters to fulfill their local projects including priority initiatives, represent NMBTF and its local chapters at events such as health fairs, farmers markets and conferences, identify opportunities for local grants, develop and foster relationships with community agencies and organizations
to promote the mission of NMBTF.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Experience with breastfeeding advocacy and resources in New Mexico. Knowledgeable of the Business Case for Breastfeeding. Excellent communication skills; competence in Google Docs; ability to work on own and as part of a team; ability to work meet strict deadlines, adapt and pick up new techniques and work with minimal supervision; capable of setting priorities; travel, valid driver’s license and reliable transportation including current car registration and insurance required.
