Main Areas of Responsibility:
The Network Security Specialist monitors computer networks for security threats or unauthorized users. The person in this position identifies compromised machines and reports on security measures taken to address threats. This person will provide maintenance of the computer desktop environment by analyzing requirements, troubleshooting, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and supporting the other IT specialists. Additional Areas of Responsibility:
Monitor network for security threats or unauthorized access. Stay abreast of current cyber threat trends. Research and stay abreast of industry best practices regarding threat management. Study Cisco firewall management tools and update firewall configurations to match Cisco recommendations. Be prepared to respond to security breaches. Provide worst-case scenario protocol and procedures so other IT personnel can properly assist in breach recovery processes.
