Mid-Level Trainer

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Assist our program in training service dogs for military veterans afflicted with post-traumatic stress disorder and/or traumatic brain injury. This position has a minimum six-month probationary period with the potential of a wage increase upon completion of probation. Trainers will conduct training for Veteran/Service Dog Teams in one-on-one and group settings and maintain necessary records. Potential for future promotion.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Summary of essential job functions:
Trainers conduct and observe weekly private training sessions, attend group classes, training clinics, workshops, staff meetings, and other program meetings and training events. Trainers also track Veteran/Service Dog Team progress, file reports and fulfill other Programs Department duties as needed.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Minimum requirements:
-Minimum of 5 years dog training experience using non-aversive, force-free, reward based techniques
-A background check and mental health screening (upon offer of employment)
