Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Under general supervision by Clinical Director, therapists at SAS provide professional therapy for survivors of sexual violence, including sexual assault, abuse, and incest, and for others impacted by these issues. Therapists provide case coordination and advocacy for survivors by interfacing with various systems including employers, legal/court system, family/friends, medical, schools, etc.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Provide individual, family and group therapy for survivors of sexual violence and others affected by sexual violence. Conduct assessments, treatment planning, case coordination, and group and/or individual therapy. Respect and maintain a high standard of confidentiality for all clients and cases served by SAS. Provide crisis intervention to clients as needed and facilitate emergency services as required. Participate in weekly group consultation, supervision and clinical meetings with other SAS therapists.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Master’s degree and New Mexico licensure in Counseling (LPCC, LMHC), Social Work (LMSW, LISW), or related discipline. Independent licensure preferred but not required. Experience working with survivors of sexual assault and abuse. Maintain licensing and continuing education per SAS needs and professional standards. Successful applicants must complete the SAS 40-hour Advocate Training.
