Main Areas of Responsibility:
Position is responsible for coding ICD-10 diagnosis and CPT professional fee codes. Assignments may include outpatient clinic and/or inpatient visits, diagnostic procedures, and emergency room encounters for the purpose of reimbursement, research and compliance with federal regulation.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
Responsible for review of documentation in medical records to assure that documentation by providers conforms to compliance and legal requirements. Provide feedback to the practitioners on coding practices. Coder must meet department productivity and quality standards. Ensure adherence to policies and procedures and guidelines.
