Main Areas of Responsibility: 

UNMCCC is recruiting for a Medical Assistant for our Infusion Clinic. This position provides direct, routine patient care and related technical and operational support to the Oncology physicians and/or patient care providers within the Cancer Center. The Medical Assistant will assist with direct patient care procedures and related tasks by taking vital signs, preparing charts, and assisting with medical examinations.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Perform various medical procedures within the scope of practice for a medical assistant such as Foley catheter placement, EKG, IM injections, and patient transfer. The assigned shift will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., optional weekend shifts 11:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m. The UNMCCC is closed on all major holidays.

Other Information/Requirements: 

High school diploma or GED and Medical Assistant Program Graduate Certificate and Current National Medical Assistant Certification or Registration and BLS certification. Please attach proof of education and licensure as indicated above. Candidate's years of experience will determine the level of Medical Assistant for which you will be considered.
