Managing Attorney for Migrant Farm Worker Program

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

New Mexico Legal Aid seeks candidates interested in serving as a managing attorney for our Centro Legal Campesino Migrant Farm Worker Program. Position based either in Albuquerque or in Las Cruces, NM. The managing attorney will lead NMLA’s statewide advocacy, outreach and community education on behalf of migrant and seasonal farm workers and focus on cases involving legal rights and issues impacting agricultural workers throughout the state.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are passionate and strongly committed to helping NMLA better serve the farmworker community, including development of effective team strategies to handle complex advocacy and extended representation cases.

Other Information/Requirements: 

English-Spanish bilingual fluency and experience with migrant and seasonal farm worker advocacy highly preferred. Must be willing to travel. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, a significant caseload and build collaborative relationships. Must be licensed to practice law in New Mexico, or eligible for a New Mexico Legal Services Provider limited license, or admission by reciprocity, if licensed in another state.
