Main Areas of Responsibility:
The Major Gifts Officer is directly and personally responsible for the execution of fundraising programs that support current and future operating budgets and special projects. Fundraising includes, but is not limited to: major donor cultivation and stewardship, identification and recruitment of new major donors, and creation of materials for diverse giving opportunities that inspire supporters to invest in our shelter.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
Implement/monitor fiscal plan for identifying, researching, soliciting & cultivating donors. Cultivate gifts of $5,000 and above; steward donors giving $10,000 or more. Develop portfolios for cultivation/solicitation by Executive Director, board members and staff. Identify needs and priorities to provide diverse/appealing giving opportunities. Provide stewardship to existing and future major donors. Identify current donors with capacity to strengthen their support.
