Main Areas of Responsibility:
Reporting to the Director of Museum Advancement, the Major Gifts Officer (MGO) will have primary responsibility for the identification, qualification and cultivation of major gifts prospects as well as the expansion and stewardship of the base of major givers to the Museum. He or she will work collaboratively with the Advancement team and cross-departmentally to ensure a coordinated development effort with annual fund, membership and major gift fundraising.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
Participate in all aspects of gift cycle, develop/oversee cultivation strategies, initiate contact w/potential donors, appropriately move donors toward solicitation/closure. Manage portfolio of prospects in assigned territory. Help to build major gift program annually. Monitor prospect/donor interactions to ensure positive,purposeful relations. Conduct research on prospects in portfolio, utilize fund-raising software to accurately track all communications and “touches” w/prospects/donors.
