Legislative Analyst

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The American Society of Radiologic Technologists is seeking a Legislative Analyst to evaluate proposed legislation and regulatory polices at the federal and state level to assess their effect on ASRT, its affiliates and the profession. The successful candidate will possess broad legislative knowledge and analytical and communication skills.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Conducts careful and systematic research and analysis using a variety of methods, choosing the methods appropriate to a particular issue.
• Drafts clear, concise and well-organized legislation and regulations, reports, summaries and amendments, including potentially complex or controversial legislation.
• Tracks, monitors and analyzes pending legislation and regulations with the use of the ASRT’s legislative tracking system and other sources.

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in political science, public administration, government or communications.
• 3-5 years’ experience evaluating legislation and regulatory policies at the state and federal level.
• Solid knowledge of health care policy management, regulatory structure and finance.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and write legislation that speaks to several demographics.
