Juvenile Justice Intervention Specialist

Type of Job: 
Full-Time
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

• Provide law enforcement an alternative to incarceration for youth who have been detained for low level misdemeanor or felony offenses
• Provide services in culturally competent and client friendly manner
• Collaborate with JPPO, JJAC, School Officials, Law Enforcement, Tribal Officials and team members
• Assist families in accessing services and making appointments
• Will provide feedback to supervisor, in regard to policies, procedures, and program evaluation

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Assures all equipment and overall environment is maintained in a safe, secure working condition
• Will provide feedback to supervisor, in regard to policies, procedures, and program evaluation
• Acts as a liaison to community resources and referral sources
• Utilizes effective, positive communication skills with clients, staff, supervisors, community and general public
• Manages time effectively insuring provision of services and documentation timeliness

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with one year relevant experience
• Associate’s degree and a minimum of two years of experience
• High school diploma (or GED) and a minimum of three years experience
