Housing Specialist

Job Description
Type of Job: 
Full-Time
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Administer housing vouchers utilizing supportive housing best practices.
Conduct orientation for new applicants.
Assist applicants with housing search.
Conduct Housing Quality Standards (HQS) inspection.
Oversee move-in and lease signing.
Conduct Annual HQS and Certification.
Maintain client files.
Data entry.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

HQS certification
Knowledge of the Fair Housing Act, the New Mexico Human Rights Act and the Uniform
Experience and ability to work with persons who have special needs, in particular those with a behavioral health diagnosis and who are experiencing homelessness
Ability to handle a high volume of work and to meet weekly and monthly goals and expectations.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Other Information/Requirements: 

Associate degree with course work in business administration, real estate or public administration; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of five years of related experience with two years of experience in affordable housing industry
Experience in affordable housing with persons who have special needs, including behavioral health and history of homelessness
Ability to drive
Valid driver’s license and insurance required
