Health Councils and Community Coordinator

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Health Equity Partnership, a W.K. Kellogg Foundation-funded initiative at the Santa Fe Community Foundation (SFCF), aims to eradicate inequities in health that can be traced to unequal economic, environmental and social conditions in New Mexico. The Health Councils and Community Coordinator, a full-time position based at the SFCF in Santa Fe, provides health equity guidance to NM health councils and the community, as a component of the NM Health Equity Partnership (HEP) within the SFCF.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Support capacity-building for health councils and community through conferences and trainings
• Explore resource development and funding opportunities related to health equity for health councils
• Management of internal and external communications regarding health councils and community health equity activities
• Support ongoing evaluation of health equity activities for overall HEP evaluation
• Participate in collaborative process to develop a statewide Health Equity Institute

Other Information/Requirements: 

This position requires the following:
• Knowledge of NM health councils, social determinants of health and health equity.
• Excellent critical thinking skills.
• Ability to conduct outreach and develop relationships with diverse groups.
• Experience in strategic planning, facilitation and coordination of meetings.
• Ability to travel and work weekends and nights.
