Part-Time
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Teach beginning and intermediate acoustic guitar, grades 3-6, Kha’p’o Community School at Santa Clara Pueblo. Use of published guitar curriculum required (instruction in guitar technique, music literacy and theory, performance etiquette); collaboration and cooperation with principal, parent, school community; management of student recruitment, student attendance, student practice, instrument loans; twice-yearly public presentations.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Minor instrument repair responsibilities and/or delivery to instrument repair facility. Engaging, upbeat, effective teaching style.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Qualifications: experience working with elementary-age students in classroom setting as well as private teaching; advanced knowledge and skill in guitar performance as well as guitar pedagogy; respectful, appropriate, effective classroom/behavior management ability; Bachelors’ degree in music education is a plus; background check and fingerprinting required.
