Part-Time
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Teach beginning and intermediate acoustic guitar, grades 3-6, Kha’p’o Community School at Santa Clara Pueblo. Use of published guitar curriculum required: instruction in guitar technique, music literacy and theory, performance etiquette. Collaboration and cooperation with principal, parent, school community. Management of student recruitment, student attendance, student practice, instrument loans. Twice-yearly public presentations.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Minor instrument repair responsibilities and/or delivery to instrument repair facility. Twice-yearly public presentations. Engaging, upbeat, effective teaching style.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Qualifications – experience working with elementary-age students in classroom setting as well as private teaching. Advanced knowledge and skill in guitar performance as well as guitar pedagogy. Respectful, appropriate, effective classroom/behavior management ability. Bachelors’ degree in music education is a plus.
