Grants Specialist

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Under general supervision of the Executive Director, the Grants Specialist provides a range of services including, but not limited to, assisting in the preparation and submission of proposals, acceptance of grants and contracts; searching for potential grants, program development, assisting in the review and tracking of program compliance with existing grant and contract requirements.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Communicates with funders regarding opportunities, inquires, submissions, and requests for information and review scores or outcomes in compliance with all relevant procurement standards.
• Researches and identifies prospective collaborative partners for state and federal proposal development including state agencies, evaluation resources, service linkage and non-traditional providers for team review.
• Represents NMCC in the community as needed.

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Knowledge of fundraising techniques, strategies and information sources.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and manage time effectively and with little supervision.
• Knowledge of policies, procedures, methods, techniques and practices regarding budget development, presentation and maintenance for the community.
• Knowledge of report preparation, memo and business letter writing.
• Skill in writing grant proposals and completing grant applications.
