GED Instructor - Deming, NM

Type of Job: 
Full-Time
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

• Adhere to curriculum and develop additional materials according to the needs of the program and participants.
• Provide instruction utilizing various adult learning techniques that will prepare students for the GED, in a bi-lingual classroom format.
• Document student’s academic skills and development.
• Adjust instruction to work on student’s areas of weakness or learning style.
• Assist the GED Instructor with grading class work and homework.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Provide feedback and documentation on performance.
• Track participant attendance and submit to GED Instructor in a timely manner.
• Abide by pre-developed/common core basic curriculum in all 4 areas of instructions: Reasoning through Language Art, Science, Social Studies, and Mathematics.
• Conduct classroom instructions in both Spanish and English as needed.

Requirements:

Other Information/Requirements: 

• An Associate’s Degree preferred or at least 45 hours of documented college credits.
• At least one year work experience working with adult learners in an educational setting.
• Valid New Mexico’s Driver’s License
• Criminal Records Check
• Must be willing and able to travel to meetings.
