Guardianship Coordinator

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Arc clients are individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Most in our program have been court-appointed. This position does require the Guardian to be on-call 24/7; therefore, emergency calls may occur after "normal" business hours.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Major functions:
• Ensure that protected individuals guarantee the greatest degree of safety for any assets and services in their best interest;
• Ensure the timely submission of all required reports (including financial reports and accounting) to the appointing court and to persons served by the guardianship fiscal agent;
• Manage guardianship correspondence, submit monthly billable time, manage Medicaid billing to guardianship contractor; and
• Attend monthly client case review meetings.

Other Information/Requirements: 

BA degree is required; experience with intellectually and/or developmentally disabled population is preferred. Social Work background helpful. Must pass a federal background check. Will also be required to successfully test and obtain a Center for Guardianship Certification (CGC) within 90-days of employment with The Arc of NM (per new regulations).

Travel outside of the metropolitan area to SE/SW/NE/NW quadrants will be required on a minimum of one time per month, depending on client needs. One overnight stay may be required.
