Foreclosure Project Attorney

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Work as part of a statewide team within NMLA, and closely collaborate with and co-counsel with other foreclosure defense attorneys based at other organizations. Work on cases originating in rural and urban communities throughout NM. Case work will include systemic pattern cases strategically selected to address issues of significant importance to our clients.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The project attorneys also will be expected to be active in local bar and community activities. NOTE: The position may be based in either Albuquerque or Santa Fe, as the applicant prefers.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Candidates must have at least three years of experience in civil litigation. Experience with foreclosure defense work or related consumer law issues will be highly preferred. Must be willing to travel. Candidates also must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, manage a significant caseload and build collaborative relationships within the staff and the community. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
