Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Food Access Program seeks to overcome food insecurity by increasing access to healthy foods in the most remote rural communities of Navajo Nation. Project activities are focused on several activities, including the Healthy Navajo Stores Initiative, Navajo Food Systems Strengthening, Navajo Fruit and Vegetable Prescription (FVRx) Program, FoodCorps Service Site, and Navajo Food Policy advocacy.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The Manager’s primary responsibilities will be to oversee the above activities under the direct supervision of the COPE Director. The Manager will be responsible directly supervising 3 to 5 staff and a total team of 8 to 10 individuals including interns and FoodCorps Service Members. Other Information/Requirements: 

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree;
3+ years’ professional experience with food policy/systems in a tribal community;
Must have knowledge of Navajo culture / Navajo food systems;
Experience in program management and staff supervision;
Computer skills in Microsoft Office;
Must be able to live in or near Gallup NM;
Able to accommodate a varied work schedule, including early mornings, long travel;
Must have own transportation (mileage will be reimbursed);
