Field Organizer

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Field Organizer will be primarily responsible for organizing and implementing the ACLU of New Mexico's public education campaign for statewide recognition of same-sex relationships and to protect the establishment of Gay-Straight Alliances in schools. The Field Organizer will also work on strategies to expand LGBT-inclusive nondiscrimination protections. The Field Organizer will be based in Albuquerque and report to the Director of Public Policy.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Build grassroots support and mobilize leaders in key communities around the state.
Organize town hall meetings, speaker trainings, community forums and related events; follow-up to encourage participants to take action.
Build a broad-based coalition by fostering alliances with allied organizations and key community groups.
Recruit, train, and manage volunteers.
Create and maintain a database of contacts and outreach, collect data, and prepare reports on campaign activities.
