Family Liaison

Full-Time
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Develops partnerships with families of children with disabilities and educators by providing direct family support and conducting workshops or other training sessions to promote knowledge and help parents of children with disabilities to advocate for their child(ren) within educational settings. Serves as a vital member of the New Mexico Parent Training and Information Center (PTI) housed at Parents Reaching Out.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Provides support to families to include (but not limited to); emotional support, relationship building, connecting families to resources and other agencies, connecting families to other families, and supporting families in understanding information and resources.

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Associate’s Degree in Social work or related field plus a minimum of 3 years of experience in community outreach or human services field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Bilingual is preferred.
• Individuals must be able to pass a criminal background check.
